Spellingcity.com is a vocabulary and spelling website that allows you to create your own spelling lists and use them with a variety of different activities.
To create your own spelling lists there is a free sign up where you can sign in as a parent or as a teacher. They offer a premium package, which, allows you to group students, and give grades on spelling and vocabulary tests.
It is very simple to create spelling lists. When you sign in, you will be on the Teachers Toolbox page, which will allow you to create lists and use them for activities. It is a very easy process, which allows you to add up to 51 words for your list. After you have saved the list, you will be on the Word & Sentence Verification Page, which will allow you to match up each word with the correct definition and sentence in their database, but also allows you to add your own.
Once you are happy with the definitions for your spelling list you have a number of options for activities you can use. Below is a video of how to use your list and play one of my favorite games Which Word? Sentences. The games also have an option for you to print out a copy of the game to allow for students to follow that are not at the SMART Board.
