Fakebook

Classtools has a template for creating fictional Facebook accounts.  Using this familiar social media platform, students can create unique, chronological naratives of the lives of historic figures or fictional characters.  The story is told through the person’s Relationship Status, Friends, Posts, Comments, Videos, Likes, and Dislikes.

The home page has many sample profiles, and the creativity of the authors is incredible.  Once a profile (with picture) has been created, a friend has been added, and a post has been written, you can save your Fakebook page with a password and a unique web address.

The video below shows some samples, and how to get started.

Thanks for this, Matt. This would be a nice tool for a R.A.F.T activity. Role, Audience, Format, Time frame. I can see my science students getting some good writing done with fakebook!
