The multitouch capabilities of the 800 series enable two users to use their fingers or a pen simultaneously on the interactive whiteboard surface to write, draw and manipulate content in SMART Notebook collaborative learning software. With the 800 series, two users can work together on lessons at the same time, while completing different actions, like moving objects or writing in digital ink.*

The 800 series uses DViT (Digital Vision Touch) technology to identify when a user switches between a finger, pen and eraser. A user can also write with a pen, erase with a palm and move objects with a finger, without having to press buttons, access on-screen menus or replace tools in the Pen Tray.

Touch becomes second nature with the 800 series. The interactive whiteboard features touch gesture* capabilities, so you can use simple, intuitive hand and finger gestures to toss, rotate or zoom in on objects or access other applications on your Windows 7 or Snow Leopard operating system. You can also independently write with a pen, erase with a palm and move objects with a finger. The magical touch experience of the 800 series means interacting with lessons is natural and easy – there's no need to access on-screen menus.

It's easy to add SMART products and accessories to the SMART Board 800i interactive whiteboard system. It seamlessly integrates with the SMART Document Camera and SMART Response interactive response systems. And accessories like the mobile floor stand, SMART Height-Adjustable Wall Mount and wireless Bluetooth connection mean that you can incorporate the 800i into a variety of learning environments.

Freestyle interaction*

The system enables two users to instantly start working together without having to switch into a separate multiuser mode or work in a confined area. And each user can individually complete actions, like writing in digital ink or moving objects with their fingers.

SMART Notebook software

SMART Notebook software sets the standard for creating, delivering and managing interactive lessons within a single application. It puts all your instructional materials at your fingertips, and allows you to save any notes or content you write during the lesson to share with students later on. A powerful and easy-to-use application, SMART Notebook software enables you to readily deliver interactive lessons that keep your students engaged and interested.

Multiuser Pen Tray

Pick up one of the pens or the eraser and the Pen Tray automatically detects which tool you’ve selected. Buttons on the Pen Tray select the color and activate the On-Screen Keyboard, right-click and help functions.

Modular design

The Pen Tray includes two wings on the side that allow you to add accessories, such as SMART projector controls.

Lockable pen option

Hold down a pen color button on the Pen Tray until the light flashes, and the lockable pen option will lock the interactive whiteboard into pen mode, so you can use any device and it will act as a pen. Early education students and students with special needs can use objects, such as tennis balls, to write on the surface.

Save function

Capture your work to SMART Notebook collaborative learning software as a screen shot that you can edit, or save your notes directly into several software applications, including Microsoft Windows versions of PowerPoint, Word and Excel, as well as AutoCAD and Adobe Acrobat.

Durable surface

The 800 series has a low-gloss surface that is optimized for projection. The surface is compatible with dry-erase markers and is easily cleaned.

Widescreen interactive whiteboard option

Enjoy more room to work. The wide-format 885 model gives you 20% more workspace than a standard interactive whiteboard – ideal for classrooms that use widescreen laptops and monitors.

Option to add sound

Add SMART Audio classroom amplification system or USB speakers to turn the 800 series into a complete multimedia center.

Warranty

Get a 3-year warranty on the SMART UX60 projector. The SMART Board interactive whiteboard has a 5-year warranty upon product registration.
