This course is a sequenced professional development program that teaches participants the best practices for using the SMART Table. During the sessions teachers will learn how to find and modify already created SMART Table lessons and learn how to create their own lessons from scratch. By the end of the course each participant will create their own SMART Table lesson and present it to the group.

(Hands-on, 2-hour session)
Learn the basic operations of the SMART Table for immediate classroom implementation. Participants will experience the SMART Table from the student’s perspective. After learning how each application works, the teachers will learn how to introduce the Table to their students to encourage collaboration and cooperation. Users will also be taught how to access and adjust settings in the Table’s teacher mode. Finally, participants will learn where to download already created SMART Table lessons and begin modifying them to meet students’ needs.

(Hands-on, 2-hour session)
During this session participants will explore the SMART Table Toolkit in more depth. The teachers will learn how to easily customize each available activity to create a variety of interactive activities that engage students of all learning styles.

Table 103

(Hands-on, 2-hour session)
Participants in this session will learn to fully integrate the SMART Table’s resources into their teaching repertoire. They will learn techniques that will help them realize the full potential of the Table Toolkit software to further increase students’ engagement and enhance the aesthetics of lessons. Also, participants will learn how to completely customize activities by flawlessly adding auditory instruction, backgrounds, and integrating images. After attending this professional development experience, teachers will understand all aspects of the SMART Table software and be able to realize the full potential of its use in the classroom.

Table LPD

(2 - 3 hour Sessions)
These sessions will provide participants with time to create their own interactive SMART Table activities with the support and guidance of an Instructional Technologist. Participants will build on their skills acquired in previous sessions and will conclude the second session by presenting a lesson they created to the group. Upon the completion of the session participants will have the skills to confidently and fully integrate the SMART Table into the classroom, differentiating their lessons, and inspiring and motivating students.
