The SMART Table comes with the SMART Table Toolkit, a resource that helps you create a limitless supply of activities on your computer. It is easy to customize ready-made activities to suit your needs. For example, take a multiple choice activity on North American animals and change the images to tigers, elephants, lions and gazelles to create an African animal exercise. You can download ready-made SMART Table activities from our educator resources web page. These activities correspond with the SMART-created SMART Notebook lesson activities and SMART Response question sets. They can be modified to meet your specific lesson needs. New activities and applications are added regularly.

Use it with the SMART Board interactive whiteboard...

To optimize both whole-class and small-group learning, the SMART Table is an excellent complement to the SMART Board interactive whiteboard. For instance, when teaching a lesson, you could first introduce a concept on the interactive whiteboard with all students, then reinforce it through group work on the SMART Table. For example, reinforce a geography lesson started on the interactive whiteboard with a mapping activity for smaller groups on the SMART Table. The interactive learning center's screen could then be projected on the interactive whiteboard for the whole class to see.

... and as part of the SMART classroom

The SMART Table complements several other SMART products, including SMART Sync classroom management software and the SMART Document Camera. Easily transfer files from your computer to the SMART Table using SMART Sync software or the SMART Table USB drive. In addition, use SMART Sync software to print completed activity screens from SMART Table applications like Paint and Media. You and your students can also capture images using the document camera and display them on the SMART Table.

Multitouch, multiuser surface

Because several children can work simultaneously on the SMART Table, collaboration is automatically promoted. The interactive learning center's multitouch capability is based on SMART's own DViT™ (Digital Vision Touch) technology. The interactive learning center’s display features excellent contrast ratio and infrared immunity, enabling its use in challenging light conditions.

Easy for students

Thanks to the SMART Table’s intuitive interface, students can start working right away because text and audio instructions are built into the activities. Manipulating objects through touch is natural and easy for the youngest of students. The SMART Table recognizes gestures, so students can easily slide, enlarge, shrink or toss objects.

Easy for teachers

Just turn on the SMART Table and teach. Use the ready-made activities or modify them to suit your lesson. The SMART Table works with both Mac and Windows operating systems. The power button enables you to turn on the interactive learning center quickly and deters students from turning it off. The SMART Table comes with a USB drive that gives you a convenient way to transfer digital activities between the interactive learning center and your computer.

SMART Table Toolkit

The SMART Table Toolkit is a stand-alone application that runs on a computer. It enables you to download and customize SMART Table applications and create your own content using items from the Gallery in SMART Notebook collaborative learning software and graphics and video from other sources. Preview activities on your computer and see them as they would appear on the SMART Table. The toolkit supports up to 50 applications.

Customizable activities

The SMART Table comes with a variety of applications. These applications incorporate activities that can be customized to suit your particular lesson or theme. Customizable SMART Table activities can be downloaded from the educator resources webpage. They include interactive activities that correspond with the SMART-created SMART Notebook lesson activities and SMART Response question sets. New activities and applications are added regularly. SMART Table applications include the following:

• Multiple choice - Students answer questions by dragging their answer to a central image
• Hot Spots - Students identify parts of a diagram by dragging labels to the right spot
• Hot Spaces - Students sort items by dragging them into groups
• Paint - Students select colors and effects and then paint with their fingers
• Media - Students drag or resize photos and videos
• Addition - Students work together to solve math problems
• Puzzle - Students work together to solve a tangram or jigsaw puzzle
• Addition Plus - Students solve math problems using visual objects

Complements other SMART products

The SMART Table complements the SMART Board interactive whiteboard and the SMART Document Camera, and is WiFi capable for use with SMART Sync classroom management software (Windows operating system only). The complementary nature of the interactive learning center gives you increased flexibility through a variety of product configurations. The following are some of the activities enabled by these product combinations:

• Remotely synchronize content that has been downloaded or created on your computer to the SMART Table
• Capture and print completed activity screens from SMART Table applications such as Paint and Media using SMART Sync
• View activity screens as thumbnails on your desktop using SMART Sync
• Show activity screens on an interactive whiteboard using SMART Sync
• Transfer applications and activities from your computer to the SMART Table using a USB key or SMART Sync

Automatic updates

SMART supplies you with automatic updates through the SMART Product Update in the SMART Table Toolkit. You don’t need to worry about retrofitting your products - they will support future updates without upgrading.

Durable

The SMART Table is sturdy and easy to maintain. It is weight resistant up to 200 lb. (90.7 kg). The surface is scratch proof and water resistant, and can be cleaned with any alcohol-free, household glass cleaner. The projector and computer are protected by the locked cabinet.

Mobile

Because the SMART Table is mounted on casters, it moves easily from class to class and fits through standard doorways. The power cord detaches from the interactive learning center to facilitate moving.

Sound

The SMART Table features simplified volume control through the teacher interface.
