This is a full-time permanent position available as a member of Teq, Inc.

Teq provides equipment and professional services to K-12 schools and higher education throughout the United States. New in 2021, Teq is also looking to grow our audio-visual sales to private businesses. To complement our 31 current sales reps, Teq is starting a Business Development group to drive appointments and demonstrations for our current sales team. Successful members of our Business Development team will have the opportunity to earn an account executive role in either a current or new territory.

What are the Primary Job Functions of a Business Development Rep?

  • Make 100+ outbound phone calls per day to K-12 institutions, colleges/universities, and private businesses.
  • Set up qualified conversations/demonstrations with customers and a member of the Teq sales team. The goal is to get 15+ appointments per week.
  • Maintain the highest levels of integrity and professionalism with customers. Teq prides itself on high degrees of customer service and comprehensive support.
  • Sustain a positive attitude, be team oriented.
  • Be an active learner for Teq products and processes so you can be organized and efficient.
  • Navigate the CRM to review and manage assigned leads, document activity, and update or submit information, as necessary.
  • Deliver value to our customers. It is always ok to say you do not know and then find out. It is never ok to make things up.
  • Develop skills necessary for promotion into a full account executive role with your own defined territory

What You Need to Be Successful as a Business Development Rep?

  • A strong interest in building a career in sales
  • An entrepreneurial mindset – the better you work, the more you will succeed.
  • Cold calling and sales training is a plus, but not required
