Teq’s Curriculum Specialist – Coding and Programming Pre K-12 is responsible for the creation of lessons and learning materials focused on coding/programming curricula designed around teaching code (Computer Science). The Curriculum Specialist – Coding and Programming Pre K-12 will have a strong background in development of technology-based instructional materials, along with experience in the creation of lesson content that integrates technology and coding/programming into teaching and learning in order to improve student engagement and outcomes. They will also work with Teq’s team of Curriculum and Content Specialists to design Instructional Blocks (iBlocks) or Project-Based Learning activities, along with all the relevant materials necessary for the successful implementation of the curriculum and content provided.

This position reports to the Director of Content and Curriculum and is accountable for effective pre-sales support, professional development workshops, implementation training’s, and both onsite and online coaching/mentoring/demonstration lessons to current customers in order to foster satisfaction and confidence in our professional services. Individuals are distinguished by their ability to consistently design and deliver effective and engaging lesson content and curriculum; knowledge of what it takes to successfully implement programs at the classroom, school and district-level; familiarity with best practices in adult learning, coaching techniques; and ability to resonate with the customer as both a product and content expert.

  • Develop computer science (coding and programming) instructional programs, activities and resources
  • Write content and curriculum that focuses on the infusion of technology into teaching and learning
  • Create Instructional Blocks (iBlocks) – customized Project-based Learning activities and content utilizing the Engineering Design Process and Universal Design for Learning to improve student outcomes
  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge about computer science (coding and programming) issues and to utilize that information to build a foundation for effective communication with customers to help drive student achievement and teacher effectiveness
  • Design professional development courses and sessions geared toward teachers from Pre-K to 12 that appeal to various learning styles and abilities
  • Provide hands-on training to teachers on computer applications, both onsite and online
  • Demonstrate understanding of all Teq Professional development courses and core products, processes, and programs, as well as the technology associated with such programs and products to be expert on the products and services for Teq sales
  • Bachelor’s Degree with a focus on Instructional Technology, Computer Science, Coding or Programming. Master’s Degree in Education, Education Technology, or related field preferred
  • Knowledge base of computer programming languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Java, Python, Scratch etc.
  • Teaching Experience 0-1 year
  • An inspiring desire to develop effective instructional technology
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate skills in development of lesson plan and content geared towards students
  • Working knowledge of Education Standards and the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) a plus.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage customer expectations
  • Exceptional collaboration skills
  • Understanding of academic market dynamics
  • Experience with instructional design, learning design, or curriculum design
  • Ability to work with software teams and learning processes

Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range $57,000-$60,000K
16 Days PTO, Full Health Benefits (Dental, Medical, Vision)
