Are you familiar with the expression, “Cult of Personality?”  Well, there is a website called Cultofpedogogy.com that offers up a lot of personality and a variety of educational resources for teachers and administrators.

Jennifer Gonzalez, website creator and Editor in Chief (pictured below), began CultofPedagogy.com sometime after 2008. It was during her experience as a “pre-service” teacher for educators at a local university that gave her pause, in which she realized she felt very isolated from her teaching peers. She was in search of like-minded, passionate educators that wanted to share their experiences, knowledge, and fervor for pedagogy.

This was the impetus for creating the Cultofpedagogy.com website.  Now, it is a full-blown, free resource for teachers to subscribe to and receive weekly newsletters. The site also provides educators with various mediums in which to consume the site’s resources.

First, there is the Blog.  This is a section of the site that is dedicated to the writings of Jennifer Gonzalez, as well as, other contributors. The topics range from fine-tuning your teaching craft and going deeper in exploring theory beyond the classroom to talking about things teachers seldom talk about with each other.

You can also access podcasts where Ms. Gonzalez has great discussions with various people that make things happen in education.  For example, half of the episodes are interviews with teachers, learning experts, parents, and other people in education. The other half are solo podcasts, where Jennifer shares her own thoughts and discoveries.

Additionally, she has a section for a variety of videos she has produced.  These videos cover demonstrations of some really great teaching practices, classroom management tips, demonstration of tech tools, and offer up advice for some of your most challenging teaching situations.

Cultofpedagogy.com is an excellent site for teachers looking for resources and support for the science of teaching.  It’s a free, online resource that is being updated regularly to bring teachers and administrators the latest in teaching practices and up to date insight into the cult of pedagogy.
