On Thursday, May 16th, New York and New Jersey educators gathered at the Liberty Science Center for an exciting day of professional development delivered by SMART and Teq. “Create Inspiring Classroom Experiences with SMART” was attended by over 120 administrators and teachers focused on leveraging technology to improve instruction.

Inspirational and Informative PD Sessions

SMART’s Global Education Strategist, Giancarlo Brotto, kicked off the event with an inspiring keynote. He reviewed global research on the 22 evidence-based EdTech capabilities linked to positive impacts on educational outcomes.

Following Giancarlo’s keynote, guests attended a series of PD sessions that included SAMR and SMART, Whole Child Approach with the SMART Learning Suite, “SMART” Integration with Chromebooks and G Suite, and the New SMART iQ Experience.

Guests enjoyed the breathtaking views of downtown Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty during a catered breakfast and lunch. Guests also received hands-on demonstrations of SMART’s newest solution for coding and programming—SAM Labs.

The day wrapped with guests winning raffle prizes that included SMART monster socks and plush dolls from the Monster Quiz in SMART Lab, and SMART SAM Labs Classroom Kits.

“We were very happy to be able to provide such and amazing PD experience for our customers,” said Damian Scarfo, Teq CEO.

Leading up to ISTE

The event at the Liberty Science Center was a perfect precursor to what educators will experience with SMART at the 2019 ISTE Conference in Philadelphia. SMART will be in ISTE booth # 2400.

Teq Director of eLearning, Joseph Sanfilippo with be in the SMART ISTE booth on Monday, June 24th (10:30 AM), Tuesday, June 25th (1:30 PM), and Wednesday, June 26th (10:00 AM) presenting “SMART Learning Suite: The Fusion of Technology and Learning.”

During this session participants will experience a hands-on demonstration of SMART iQ and the SMART Learning Suite Online. They will learn how to use SMART Learning Suite to focus student engagement, differentiate instruction, and collect data in real time. SMART Learning Suite is a great tool for interacting with students, sharing content, and giving all students a voice in the classroom.
