The Ohio Educational Technology Conference (OETC) is one of the premier P-20 state edtech conferences in the country, taking place from February 14th-16th at the Columbus Convention Center in Columbus, OH. OETC welcomes over 4,500 educational technology professionals and enthusiasts each year to innovate, collaborate, and cultivate partnerships at the forefront of education.

Event and exhibitions

We are excited to be attending OETC with various educators, administrators, curriculum designers, and technology specialists alike. We will be located at booth #807/809, so come on down to ask us more about our iBlocks project-based learning experiences, the student-led and teacher-guided solutions for hands-on learning. We also offer top-notch edtech products, including SMART interactive display panels, along with our online PD platform, OTIS for educators, with live and on-demand courses available anytime, anywhere.

Must-see sessions

In addition to our exhibitor booth, a member of our Professional Development team will be holding multiple PD sessions available for attendees. Make sure to visit the Session Agenda on the OETC site for correct times and locations.

Differentiated SEL Check-Ins with Google

Robert Abraham, Professional Development Account Manager

Wednesday, February 15, 2023 |9:15 AM – 10:15 AM

Room B240/241

The past few years have been difficult for students and teachers. Participants will explore creating differentiated social-emotional learning (SEL) check-ins using Google tools such as Slides, Forms, and Jamboard. Visual and text-based options will be explored as well as incorporating emojis for younger students or students with special needs. A teacher’s role is to advance students’ education, but it is also important to nurture and guide students emotionally. As the parent of a special needs child and a former teacher, I understand the importance of paying attention to the emotional needs of students. By using SEL check-ins with students, teachers can understand and adapt to the specific needs of their students throughout the day.

Virtual Road Trip with Google My Maps – PBL Activity

Robert Abraham, Professional Development Account Manager

Wednesday, February 15, 2023 | 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM

Room C162A/C162B

This session is a discussion on project-based learning (PBL) centered around Google apps and featuring Google My Maps. The purpose of this session is to introduce Google My Maps and integrate it into a PBL activity. This activity is multi-disciplinary and can be used in multiple grade levels. We will explore using Google Docs, Forms, Sheets, and Sites to gather information for a virtual road trip that will be mapped out using Google My Maps. Creating a virtual road trip PBL activity can give students the opportunity to virtually explore their country, use new tools, and gain important computer skills. Plus, projects can be shared with students around the world!

We’re so excited to see everyone at OETC ’23! Come by the Teq booth to chat PD, PBL, edtech, and more. We’ve got a lot to show, so be sure to connect with us on our online platforms and tag us in your OETC pictures on social media, we’ll see you in Columbus!
