HUNTINGTON, NY–(Marketwired – Sep 22, 2015) – Teq, the educational technology and professional development (PD) company, today announced a major upgrade to its online professional development platform, including the “Instructional Support Now” feature allowing K-12 educators to instantly connect via live video with a member of Teq’s PD team.

“By adding the ability to instantly video chat with our Teq PD experts, we are providing educators with a fast, personalized way to get instructional technology help right when they need it,” said Damian Scarfo, CEO of Teq.

“It’s like having a technology coach on demand,” said Barbara Weiner, the President of the education consultancy Great Jones Street and a former Director and Manager of Technology in the NYC DOE. “Being able to connect to an instructor anytime is critical for the long-term success of a district’s technology plan. Teachers are always asking for that continuous classroom support. Teq gets it right, making one of their PD specialists available to teachers when they need them.”

In addition to the “Now” feature, Teq rolled out several new online PD classes including Microsoft 365 and Google Apps for Education Digital Teacher Certifications, bringing its total number of online PD courses to more than 150. New district administrative features were also added, like the ability to string similar videos together into a PD “playlist,” and improved sections for online discussions and PD planning.

“Teq Online PD provided our teachers with the ability to improve their teaching skills, increase the use of technology, and create resources for the students,” said Michael Coppotelli, Associate Superintendent of Schools for the Archdiocese of New York. “The key to Teq online PD is its simplicity — allowing teachers to create professional learning communities and giving principals the ability to align PD with instructional technology goals.”

Teq Online PD courses are broadcast live online, providing a format that allows educators to interact with the instructor, then review the recorded video at their own pace. They are led by state-certified teachers with classroom experience. It provides districts with an affordable and flexible way to provide PD for each teacher. Designed to accommodate increasingly hectic teaching schedules, it enables teachers to meet their PD requirements without having to miss valuable class time. There are more than 8,000 educators and 500 districts currently using Teq Online PD. For more information, visit www.teq.com or call 877-455-9369.
